The idea of two duos  - guitars and trumpets - has allowed us to create a new, yet old sonic resonance that echoes forth from the world’s most bountiful sources of music.

Playing what might be considered multi-cultural classical, folk, jazz or popular standard songs, Due Duo Quartet explores the colors, the harmonies, the feelings, and the musical expressions of by-gone and contemporary times. We bring melodies and rhythms from different parts of the world together to create something which is new and beautiful, transcendental, and hopefully, transformational.

             

The musicians in the Due Duo Quartet are Fred Benedetti and George Svoboda,  guitars, with Philip Tauber and Calvin Price, trumpets.

“We come from multi-cultural families and all have studied different languages and music from different parts of the world. We have known each other and made music with one another for over 20 years.”

Since America is the most heterogeneously populated country in the world – comprised of people from diverse countries who speak many languages - one of our goals is to make music  that has broad appeal to all people.

This first compilation of recorded material by Due Duo  Quartet is called "December Stars " -  an introduction to the musical world we will be continually exploring.  " December Stars" is not in the heavens but in the minds of those who can reflect on the music heard through their experiences of December years passed.
